snippet About me

Here is a little Snippet about me !

I am a Mother, a wife and a passionate Educator.

Hi,  I am Vaishnavi!

Well, I did not start my career in Education. In fact, my Grandfather – who was an Educator himself  founded a school about 50 years ago and asked me to help him out with the administration of the school.  I was just then finishing my degree in Business Administration. Initially I helped with the administration of the school but slowly I was enthralled and captivated by the children. Every conversation that I had with them brought me closer to them.

One thing led to another and I was fully involved into the academics and teacher training as well.  I attended a lot of workshops and training programs ranging from early childhood education to mindfulness. I’m happy to say that I have been working closely with children as an educator for over a decade now.

When I was pregnant I was confident that since I worked with children, I could handle anything that came my way. I read a lot of parenting books and equipped myself but nothing could prepare me for the little bundle of joy that arrived 9 years ago.

I was overwhelmed and felt unsure of my parenting abilities. The book knowledge can take you so far in parenting and I needed something more. Clueless, I turned to my grandmothers for help (in Tamil they call it “Paati Vaidiyam” (Medicine from Grandma). I also relied heavily on my Intuition.

I began seeing parenting in a new light and realised that it is not about just raising a child and sending them into the world. In fact, it is much more than that. It is all about cherishing them in the right way.

Holding them with reverence, nurturing them with love, educating their hearts and finally setting them free to be thoughtful and mindful people in the world.

Why this blog???

There are numerous blogs on child health, crafts and other things  but what I needed the most  was – how to raise them into a mindful , humane, free, happy and a confident person. I understood  the important part the parents played in this phase too. So in my blog, I try to explore and  share some of my wisdom and experiences of raising a child by educating not only the head but also the heart.

Be it narrating stories – to bring about positive behaviour or cooking simple meals with your child and having fun or doing some artsy crafts stuff with your child to get your creative juices flowing . well, this blog is sure to point you in the right way.

Here are some things I believe in ……

Each child is different and so unique that they are capable of doing meaningful and wonderful things with their life – in their own way and at their own pace.

I trust in the Indian wisdom (that I’m so strongly routed in) and try to pass that on to my child by weaving them through stories.

Strong believer of kind, compassionate and a mindful living.

I truly adore this quote

“Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, you owe me. Look what happens to the love like that. It lights up the whole sky.”Hafiz (Persian Poet)
